Shaka's Rock takes its name from the Zulu king, who legend says once stood on its cliffs to watch his warriors dive into the pools below to prove their courage. The headland setting gives it the most dramatic scenery of any Dolphin Coast town — dark rock, hidden coves, and pools tucked beneath the cliffline.
There's very little in the way of shops or restaurants here; most visitors base themselves in Ballito or Salt Rock and come to Shaka's Rock specifically for the views and the pools.
