Book early

December–January, Easter and the July Ballito Pro week are peak season. The best hotels, apartments and estate homes fill months ahead — reserve early and expect higher rates.

Hotels suit short, spoil-yourself trips; self-catering apartments and villas win for families, groups and stays of a week or more, with kitchens and space.

Getting around

Umhlanga and Ballito have Uber and Bolt, but a hire car is best for hopping between towns and beaches. Many hotels also arrange airport transfers.

Ask about the extras

Check for secure parking, Wi-Fi speed for remote work, load-shedding backup (inverter or generator), and whether estate homes include access to golf and facilities.
