The red-and-white lighthouse, the promenade and the coast's most glamorous restaurants and hotels. Umhlanga is the largest and most upscale of the Dolphin Coast towns — the natural first stop for visitors flying into King Shaka.

Umhlanga is the most developed and resort-like of the Dolphin Coast towns — think manicured promenades, five-star hotels, and the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, one of the largest malls in the Southern Hemisphere. It's the natural choice if you want restaurants, nightlife and polish within walking distance of the beach.
The lighthouse, built in 1954 and still active, is the town's most photographed landmark and sits right along the promenade. Whale and dolphin sightings are common offshore, particularly from June to November.
